A considered renovation and extension to retain and restore the existing original elements to a family home in one of Melbourne’s most prestigious heritage suburbs. Existing heritage residence includes an approximately 20 year old existing extension which required to be removed to design this light filled extension to accommodate the growing family.

Design respects and complements the existing Californian Bungalow home with a contemporary and light filled two level rear extension hosting four main bedrooms, guest room and home office. Creating a high quality design with the use of natural materials and tones to complement the existing fabric and materiality.

Additions and alterations employ a pallet of materials including face brick, metal cladding and timber details arranged in a streamlined contemporary form. Conscious layouts promote daylight, natural light, views and collective living.
