South Melbourne Townhouses

Designed for young professionals and growing families, this project was one of the largest housing developments for South Melbourne when completed in 2007.

The corner development includes 32 townhouses across four blocks – one facing Dorcas Street, one facing Cecil Street and two internal blocks accessed via landscaped mews to facilitate a sense of address to those without direct street access.

The townhouse layouts were carefully considered, with living areas located on the upper levels to allow residents to take in the city or bay views and include high quality designs, finishes and individual lifts to create a sense of prestige.

Inspired by the area’s industrial history, metal and concrete materials were used throughout the building’s design, and a local artist was engaged to weave in urban artwork that makes reference to the historical roots of South Melbourne.
