CATTANACH CRESCENT Werribee
CATTANACH CRESCENT Werribee
Planning Stages
Providing Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) options within the expanding area of outer Melbourne, are four dwellings designed across two large blocks in Werribee. The development spans from single residences to shared accommodation for three participants across a variety of SDA classifications to enhance integration of independent living for those with disabilities within the community. Each participant has an individual sense of address and home.
Featuring bold and contemporary design with an emphasis on attracting younger disabled participants and offering them individual residences and space, balanced with a strong sense of community. Design incorporates a modern interpretation on traditional residential forms, styles and buildings from the previous century with the collection of SDA dwellings seamlessly integrating the residential ambiance of its surroundings whilst preserving a non institutional aesthetic.
Focus and consideration on connecting the individual SDA dwellings into the surrounding neighbourhood, with design blending material typology present throughout the residential area. Individual dwellings feature a contemporary and minimalist combination of brick, timber and metal, paired with diverse textures intended to create visual intrigue and all harmonized with neutral complimentary tones and landscaping to connect the bold design form with the neighbouring residences.
