Bambra Road Caulfield
Bambra Road Caulfield
Completed, 2016
This once dilapidated heritage home was restored, rebuilt and redesigned to create a spacious family residence that seamlessly transitions between old and new, creating an entertainer’s paradise to suit the family’s needs. A contemporary bluestone extension was carefully placed behind the existing facade, designed to complement the previous home and breathe life into an old relic.
Positioned in the centre of a large block, the new home design was carefully deliberated to ensure council approval of its relocation, as it was shifted forward and rebuilt closer to the front of the spacious site. This allowed for the modern and respectful single level extension to occur, with a generous open-plan living area introduced to address the entertaining needs of the growing family.
Large floor to ceiling windows to the rear of the home overlook a lavish alfresco area, landscaped gardens, and a striking pool, allowing for daylight to filter through and showcase the warm natural tones, timber flooring and modern marble finished fixtures within the home.
Inside a slightly sunken living area is separated from the main dining space by a half wall. With plush carpets, an oversized couch and a floating marble bench, the room promotes an intimate and private setting for individual family members, creating a dwelling that is impressive and inviting whilst still extremely functional.
