Waverley Road

Engaged in transforming and rejuvenating a tired 2 level office building into a purpose-built rehabilitation clinic for Steps Therapy group. The interior design response needed to incorporate functionality for services to be provided, visitors, patients and staff members. The space was a balance of internal areas like a kitchen and storage areas, a welcoming reception and waiting space and various forms of consultation rooms.

Fit out emphasis was placed on addressing the needs of both individuals and groups, with multiple open plan therapy areas, private consultation rooms, a pilates and group exercise studio and versatile rehabilitation spaces along with a dedicated gym area equipped with accessible exercise equipment. The layout considerations for the environment focused on creating a positive and stimulating atmosphere for patients.

The space itself has been designed by repurposing materials to make the space fully accessible, including a lower section at the reception desk, resurfacing floors, stairs and carpets to meet commercial grade and DDA ratings. Additional handrails were added where necessary, while ensuring all materials and tones matched Steps brand colours.
