Clifton Street Prahran
Clifton Street Prahran
Town Planning Approved
Within the industrial surroundings and heritage precinct, this mixed-use boutique development is designed with an objective of delivering a variety of residential options for owner-occupiers and investors. The proposed eight-level mixed used building features ground level retail space, three levels of office areas, three levels of various residential options and a penthouse with roof terrace taking advantages of the city views.
Orientation of the local Prahran streets form a grid-like pattern with their horizontal and vertical divisions which is integrated and reflected within the constrained grid design of the building at a pedestrian scale and incorporated with its strong verticality created by the site width. Surrounding industrial context reflected and unified within the design through its transition of features and hierarchy of form and mass, with bold framed elements to the upper levels inspired by neighbouring steel framework. Featuring strong grounded masonry construction within the lower podium levels that is complimented with open and stepped transition of the upper levels through harmonised and regular elements. Vertical landscaping is carefully integrated and runs organically through the grid building design, representing the connection to earth and nature and complimenting the surrounding organic parkland spines.
To create a bold street presence, the design features strong physical visual form, integration of surrounding elements and city views where possible. Careful consideration essential to site width, small inner-suburban street locality and limited access to northern aspect and daylight.
